[Women’s Lacrosse Team] Victory in the Second Match of the Spring Tournament! Just Two More Wins to Conquer Kansai!

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the 21st Kansai Junior & Senior High School Girls’ Lacrosse Spring Tournament (Preliminary League, Day 3) was held. Our school’s girls’ lacrosse team faced Josho Gakuen High School and won 8–2.

Although the team ultimately secured a comfortable win with a point difference, the match also revealed several challenges. Under circumstances different from previous games, there were moments when communication on the field was lacking, and periods when the team struggled to gain momentum as intended.

However, they gradually regrouped in the second half and regained control of the game. In particular, they added multiple goals in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Among the highlights was midfielder Natsu Takemura, whose relentless running to carry the ball forward and her strong determination “to win” brought great energy to the team.

After the match, captain Rinka Terashima reflected, “When things don’t go well, our atmosphere tends to drop, and we sometimes panic in unexpected situations,” identifying these as challenges. At the same time, she added positively, “When we were able to rebuild our momentum, we played our own game.”

Takemura also commented, “Since our next match is against the same opponent, we want to analyze thoroughly and focus especially on how we start the game.”

This victory was achieved with the support of many cheering fans. Our girls’ lacrosse team now needs just two more wins to conquer Kansai.

The next match will be the semifinal held on Sunday, May 3, at Doshisha High School (Game 1, scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m.), where they will once again face Josho Gakuen High School. We appreciate your continued warm support and look forward to seeing you at the venue.
