On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the High School Sports Festival was held under clear blue skies.

A total of 34 classes from Grades 10 through 12 were divided into five color teams—Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Purple—and competed in a variety of events.

During the opening ceremony, the five team captains appeared wearing traditional haori and hakama attire while carrying their team flags, and delivered a spirited athletes’ oath. In the opening performance that followed, the Calligraphy Club, Baton Twirling Club, Cheerleading Club, and Dance Club gave vibrant performances. When the large calligraphy piece featuring the character “飛翔” (“Soaring”) was unveiled, the venue erupted in applause, and excitement for the sports festival reached its peak.

This year’s program featured a wide range of events, including the Class Relay Race, Tug-of-War Flag Contest, Giant Ball Carrying “UFO Version,” Back-to-Back Relay, Tug-of-War, Figure-Eight Rope Skipping, Club Relay Race, Cheer Performance Contest, Ball Toss, Typhoon Relay, and the Color Team Relay Race.

Students gave their all in their respective strengths and encouraged one another throughout the competitions. Loud cheers echoed across the field, and many scenes could be seen of students supporting one another beyond the boundaries of class and color team.

At the end of the event, each color team gathered together, with the team captains leading cheers in recognition of everyone’s efforts. It was a day full of energy, unity across grade levels, and strengthened bonds among classmates and teammates.
