Working Together Under the Spring Sky — Junior High School Sports Festival Held
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, under sunshine that already carried the feeling of early summer, the Junior High School Sports Festival was held.
This year, 578 students from 18 classes across Grades 7 through 9 were divided into six color teams—Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Purple, and Pink—and competed enthusiastically in a variety of events.
The Junior High School Sports Festival featured unique events for each grade level, including the “All-Member Relay,” in which every student in a class participates, as well as the “Back Crossing Race” (Grade 7), “Five-Person Three-Legged Race” (Grade 8), “Group Formation Performance” (Grade 8), “Large Rope Jump” (Grade 9), and “Group Performance” (Grade 9). In every event, students gave their all while encouraging their classmates, and loud cheers echoed throughout the field.
In addition, one of the unique features of our school’s sports festival—the mixed-grade color team competitions—also generated great excitement. Events such as the Ball Toss, Typhoon Relay, Tug-of-War Flag Contest, Tug-of-War, Fastest Color Team Relay, and Cheer Performance Contest saw older students leading younger students as they worked together as one team, fostering connections across grade levels. Throughout the competitions, there were many heartwarming scenes of students cheering each other on beyond the boundaries of classes and color teams.
Furthermore, the operation of the event was led by students from various committees, including the Physical Education Committee and the Health Committee, who were responsible for preparations, event management, announcements, and record keeping. The experience of organizing such a major school event by themselves became an invaluable learning opportunity for the students.
Through the sports festival, students learned many important lessons: the value of teamwork, connections with students from other grade levels, and the many emotions that come with both victory and defeat. It was truly a day of growth and meaningful experiences for everyone involved.
