On Sunday, May 31, 2026, the Kyoto Prefectural Qualifier for the 2026 National High School Inter-High School Judo Tournament was held at the Kyoto City Budo Center. In the girls’ team competition, our school’s judo club achieved a splendid championship victory, securing a place in the Inter-High School Championships.

From the semifinals onward, the team competed with third-year high school students as members of the lineup. In the final match, Yui Hasegawa, competing in the opening position, scored a crucial point. Her lead was then tenaciously protected by Tomoka Tokuda in the middle position and Chinatsu Oyabu in the final position, as the entire team united to claim victory together.

Following their success in the individual competition, the team also captured the title in the team event, and our judo club will now compete on the national stage as representatives of Kyoto Prefecture.

The athletes demonstrated the results of their daily rigorous training and fought courageously without giving up until the very end. Without being satisfied with this achievement, the team will continue training hard in order to perform even more successfully at the Inter-High School Championships.
