LAONIN Makes Its First Appearance of the Academic Year! Participated in the Ujitawara “Meguri-Ichi” Market
On Sunday, June 14, LAONIN held its first stall of this academic year at the “Meguri Market” held in Ujitawara. We were invited by “Machimachi Café,” with whom we connected at an event last June, and sold drip coffee and drip bags. Many people who had previously visited us during our café takeover in Ujitawara also stopped by, making it a time where we truly felt the warmth of the local community.
This year as well, LAONIN is planning to open stalls at various events and organize café takeovers. Next Sunday, the 21st, we are scheduled to open a stall at MUJI (Muji) Kyoto Yamashina store. If you are nearby, please feel free to stop by!
Details about LAONIN’s activities are shared on Instagram, so please follow us.
Comments from participating students
- ・It was really fun meeting so many different people! It was my first time participating, but I was able to deepen my understanding of LAONIN’s activities and learn about the strength and warmth of the local community—it was a very meaningful day!
- ・At today’s marché, there were so many visitors, and I could feel the strong community ties and the wide network of the organizers!
- ・While brewing coffee, I felt a bit of pressure about making customers wait, but I realized that people who come to the marché are not only there to buy coffee—they also enjoy the atmosphere and conversations. Instead of focusing only on serving quickly, I was able to enjoy communicating with customers.
