[Junior High School WOW program] "Money & Life Design" Through Life Planning Experience

As the first installment of the 2026 WOW Week, we held "Useful Money Talks I 2026."

We welcomed four life planners from Sony Life Insurance, who cooperate with us every year, as our guest speakers. This course, which has been held continuously since 2022, marks its 12th time. It is a popular WOW Week project, with the number of applicants exceeding the capacity every time and recording 100% participant satisfaction.

In this workshop, students experienced life planning by using simulation software actually used by real life planners in their work, setting up a fictional family for each group.

The participating students considered how to achieve their ideal lifestyle within a limited income, assuming various life events such as buying a house, traveling, purchasing a car, and children's education costs. Cheers and gasps of surprise arose every time the simulation results changed, and the students leaned forward to engage in repeated discussions.

In addition, by proposing improvement measures within each group and receiving advice from the life planners, they were able to learn about how to face money and think about future planning. The workshop was scheduled to last 1 hour and 30 minutes, but before we knew it, 2 hours had passed due to the students' enthusiastic commitment.

Through the workshop, the students had an opportunity to think anew about "with what kind of feelings their families work and support the household" and "how blessed the environment is where they can learn at school." It became a learning experience that not only covered future money management but also deepened their sense of gratitude toward their families.

In the upcoming era of rapid change, financial literacy will become increasingly important. Triggered by this experience, we hope that the students will continue to learn through junior high school, high school, university, and beyond, and proactively think about their own life design.
