SA Student Earns Ninth Dan in Soroban (Japanese Abacus)!
We are pleased to introduce the achievements of one of our SA (Scholar, Athlete & Artist) students.
On Sunday, May 31, Sota Iwai, a first-year junior high school student, successfully earned the rank of Ninth Dan in Soroban (Japanese Abacus) at the Soroban Proficiency Examination administered by the National Federation of Abacus Education.
The Dan-level examination evaluates candidates across six disciplines, including multiplication, division, and addition/subtraction, as well as one selected category from voucher calculation, mental calculation, applied calculation, and root extraction. The highest rank is Tenth Dan, making Ninth Dan the second-highest level and a qualification that requires exceptional computational ability and outstanding accuracy.
As an SA student, Sota has devoted himself to honing his soroban skills every day. This remarkable achievement is the result of his consistent hard work and dedication. We congratulate him on this outstanding accomplishment and look forward to his continued success in the future.
