APU Open Campus Tour: Discover a University Where Students from Over 100 Countries Come Together

On July 11 (Saturday) and 12 (Sunday), nine students joined a one-night, two-day tour to attend the Open Campus at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU).

Located in Beppu, Oita Prefecture, APU is a member of the Ritsumeikan Trust and one of Japan's leading international universities, welcoming students from more than 100 countries and regions. Approximately half of its student body consists of international students, and courses are offered in both Japanese and English. In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 (Hospitality & Leisure Management), APU was ranked in the 101–150 band worldwide for the first time, making it the only university in Japan to be ranked in this field.

During the tour, students had the opportunity to experience APU's diverse and multicultural learning environment firsthand, gaining valuable insight into the university's unique educational approach and international atmosphere. They also attended a special lecture by APU President Yutaka Yoneyama, which deepened their understanding of APU's educational philosophy and the significance of globally oriented learning.

A second tour is planned for this autumn. We hope that by learning more about APU—one of Japan's premier institutions for international education—students will broaden their perspectives on their future, explore a wider range of possibilities, and be inspired to take the initiative in designing careers that reflect their individual aspirations.
