The 108th National High School Baseball Championship Kyoto Tournament – Final

【The 108th National High School Baseball Championship Kyoto Tournament】

The final of the 108th National High School Baseball Championship Kyoto Tournament was held on Monday, July 27, at WAKASA Stadium Kyoto.
Holding a two-run lead in the top of the sixth inning, Ritsumeikan Uji surrendered a game-tying two-run double to left field with two outs and the bases loaded, bringing the game back to even.
Neither team was able to score after that, and the game remained deadlocked until Ritsumeikan Uji came to bat in the bottom of the eighth inning.
With one out and a full count, No. 2 batter Fujikawa lined a go-ahead RBI single into left field, swinging the momentum back in Ritsumeikan Uji’s favor.
The rally continued as consecutive bases-loaded walks forced in two more runs. No. 5 batter Azuma followed with an RBI single to right field, and No. 6 batter Yasuda added a two-run RBI double to left field, capping a remarkable seven-run inning and extending the lead to seven runs.
In the top of the ninth, Sakamoto, who relieved starting pitcher Nakao, shut the door to secure the victory.
