【The 108th National High School Baseball Championship Kyoto Tournament】

The final of the 108th National High School Baseball Championship Kyoto Tournament was held on Monday, July 27, at WAKASA Stadium Kyoto.
Holding a two-run lead in the top of the sixth inning, Ritsumeikan Uji allowed a game-tying two-run double to left field with two outs and the bases loaded, bringing the game back to level terms.
With neither team able to score afterward, the game remained deadlocked until the bottom of the eighth inning, when Ritsumeikan Uji came to bat.
With one out and a full count, No. 2 batter Fujikawa delivered a go-ahead RBI single to left field, restoring the team's momentum.
The rally continued as consecutive bases-loaded walks forced in two more runs. No. 5 batter Azuma then added an RBI single to right field, followed by a two-run RBI double to left field from No. 6 batter Yasuda, as Ritsumeikan Uji exploded for seven runs in the inning to take a commanding seven-run lead.
In the top of the ninth inning, Sakamoto, who relieved starting pitcher Nakao, retired the side to seal the victory.

With today's victory, Ritsumeikan Uji has earned the right to represent Kyoto Prefecture at the 108th National High School Baseball Championship, which will open on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Hanshin Koshien Stadium.
