Junior High School Rubber Baseball Team Exchange with an American Team (Day 3)
On Monday, August 3, three teams—Ritsumeikan Uji, the Rookies, and Eagle Try—gathered at Obaku Baseball Stadium for a series of friendly games. Eagle Try is a team made up of alumni of the Ritsumeikan Uji Junior and Senior High School Baseball Clubs, along with their parents.
In the first game, held in preparation for the Yamashiro Rookie Match 2026, which will take place after the Obon holidays, the first- and second-year students faced a team consisting of third-year students, the Rookies, and Eagle Try (parents). In the second game, a combined team of first- through third-year students played against the Rookies and Eagle Try (university students). Throughout the games, many participants—especially graduates of the IM Course—actively communicated with one another in English.
After the friendly games, alumni of the high school baseball club conducted a practice session for the third-year junior high school students aspiring to play high school baseball. This year, one of the Rookies players also expressed their appreciation by writing a heartfelt letter, creating a memorable moment for everyone.
These three days were a wonderful opportunity for international exchange through baseball, reflecting the unique spirit of Ritsumeikan Uji.
