High School Wind Ensemble: A Passionate Performance at the Kyoto Prefectural Wind Ensemble Competition (High School Division A)

On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the Ritsumeikan Uji High School Wind Ensemble participated in the "63rd Kyoto Prefectural Wind Ensemble Competition (High School Division A)" held at Kyoto Concert Hall and received a Silver Award.

The Ritsumeikan Uji High School Wind Ensemble has been working diligently in its daily rehearsals, inspiring and encouraging one another as they strive to embody this year's slogan, "Kanaeru" (to make aspirations come true through music). Each member has worked hard with the goal of expressing, through their performance, their gratitude to everyone who has supported them along the way.

During the competition, the members on stage performed with a genuine joy for music, while those waiting in the wings continued to cheer them on with passionate encouragement. The "best 12 minutes" they shared, united as one ensemble, became an irreplaceable experience and an opportunity to further strengthen the bonds among the members.

Although they did not achieve the result they had hoped for, the members gained something far more valuable through the challenge of this competition. It gave them a renewed appreciation for the beauty of music, the importance of their fellow members, and the joy of wholeheartedly working together toward a common goal.

Building on this experience, the Wind Ensemble will continue to devote itself to daily practice so that it can bring courage, hope, and inspiration to others through music. We sincerely appreciate your continued warm support as the ensemble continues to "Kanaeru"—creating music that connects with listeners and moves their hearts.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the parents and guardians who made it possible for the students to perform on such a wonderful stage, as well as to everyone who has supported the ensemble throughout its journey.
