We would like to highlight the achievements this summer of Yusei Tanaka, a first-year high school SA (Scholar-Athlete & Artist) student who is actively pursuing golf.

Taiwan Junior Open

Tanaka competed in the Boys 15–18 category at the “13th TAIWAN JUNIOR OPEN,” held in Taiwan from Wednesday, August 5 to Friday, August 7. He demonstrated his abilities to the fullest and achieved an impressive fourth-place finish.

Japan Junior Golf Championship

From Wednesday, August 19 to Friday, August 21, Tanaka competed in the Boys 15–17 category of the 70th Japan Junior Golf Championship, held at Kasumigaseki Country Club in Saitama Prefecture. The prestigious course also served as the venue for the golf competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, and Tanaka had been eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to play on a course he had long admired.

Unfortunately, after the second day (second round), Tanaka missed the cut line—the qualifying score required to advance—by just one stroke and was unable to progress to the final round. Nevertheless, the tournament appears to have given him confidence and valuable experience to build on for his next challenge.
