Ritsumeikan Uji Participated in the “Musubi-ichi: Everyone’s Cultural Festival” at AEON Mall Kumiyama
On Monday, September 21, 2026 (a national holiday), students from our school participated in the “Musubi-ichi: Everyone’s Cultural Festival” held at AEON Mall Kumiyama. This year, a special “Ritsumeikan Uji High School Day” was organized, with six groups from our junior and senior high schools taking part. The students presented the outcomes of their activities and offered hands-on activities for visitors. The cheerleading club also participated with a performance and a hands-on cheerleading experience.
Exhibits and Activities
- Making bath bombs using flowers that would otherwise be discarded
- Environmental Issues Werewolf Game (Grade 8 students)
- Emergency Food Stockpiling Project
- Cat Happiness Relay
- Intergenerational Exchange Project for Elementary School Children and Senior Citizens
- Making candles using jars that would otherwise be discarded
At the venue, many visitors stopped by the booths, listened to the students’ ideas, took part in the hands-on activities, and responded to surveys. By bringing what they had learned into a real-world setting and interacting directly with visitors, the students gained new insights and discovered new challenges to explore.
Our school will continue to value opportunities for students to engage with the local community and people from diverse backgrounds while taking the initiative to tackle real-world challenges.
