JHS 1st Grade Tea Picking Experience
ip
On Saturday, May 28, first-year junior high school students had their annual tea-picking experience at Hattori Tea Farm (Shirakawa, Uji City).
They learned from Mr. Hattori about the history of tea and the process from tea leaves to the finished product. During the actual tea picking experience, the students picked tea leaves by the sack full with their eyes shining. It was a great experience under the sunny, slightly sweaty May weather.
The plucked tea leaves were immediately processed at the factory and arrived at the school early!
