On December 10, 2023, the 54th National High School Football Championship Kansai Regional Final was held at Oji Stadium, where the Ritsumeikan Uji High School Panthers faced off against the Osaka Sangyo University High School Fighting Angels. Cheered on by the Koshien baseball team, brass band, cheerleaders, and many classmates and parents, the Panthers won 21-13 and qualified for the Christmas Bowl for the sixth time in two years.

The Christmas Bowl will be held on December 24 at Yokohama Stadium against Kanto representative Kosei Gakuen High School. On that day, there will be many events at Ritsumeikan Uji Junior and Senior High Schools, including a national high school ekiden relay race and a regular concert by the junior and senior high school brass band.
