Ritsumeikan University Graduate School SEISEKI-YUSHUSHA (Academic Excellence) Scholarship (For 1st Year of Enrollment)


1. Description
This scholarship is awarded to students who achieve great results in their admission screening for a Master’s Program, Integrated Doctoral Program (first-year) or Professional Degree Program (Graduate School of Professional Teacher Education only) at Ritsumeikan University.
Each graduate school will select prospective scholarship recipients from among those who pass one of their designated admission screenings with outstanding results, and prospective recipients will be informed of their eligibility when receiving their admission screening results (see 3. below for eligible admission screenings). For those who accept an offer for this scholarship, the amount of their scholarship award is deducted from their first and second semester tuition fees.
*No separate application is required to apply for this scholarship.
*Government-sponsored international students and students receiving other scholarships which fully cover tuition fees are ineligible.


2. Scholarship Amount and Number of Recipients

International Relations Ⅰ: 250,000 yen Ⅱ: 200,000 yen Ⅲ: 150,000 yen Ⅳ: 100,000 yen Ⅴ: 50,000 yen
Combining I, II, III, IV and V, a maximum of approximately 25% of newly enrolled students
Letters 50,000 yen
A maximum of approximately 40% of newly enrolled students

3. How to be considered for this scholarship
Those who apply to their graduate school of interest via any of the designated admission procedures mentioned here will be considered for this scholarship.

4. Award Method
The scholarship is awarded in the form of a deduction from first and second semester tuition fees (excluding the admission fee).

6. Other Notes
A version of this scholarship is also available for Master's, Integrated Doctoral, and Professional Degree Program students entering their 2nd year of enrollment. As opposed to the 1st year of enrollment scholarship described on this page, students who wish to be considered for the 2nd year scholarship must apply separately during their 3rd semester.
