RU Graduation Ceremony and GLA Degree Conferral Ceremony for 2025 March graduates will be held on March 20. It is your special day, and we can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of your new journey with you.

 

Important Schedule: Thursday, March 5 at 6:30 a.m.

Check your graduation eligibility via Manaba+R.

ALL graduating students must complete the survey sent by the GLA Office following the announcement on graduation eligibility. This survey will also serve to confirm your attendance at the ceremony.

 

Ceremony Details

We invite you and your family to join us for the RU Graduation Ceremony, followed by the GLA Degree Conferral Ceremony and Reception Party.
Please note:

Non-graduating students are also welcome to attend. However, seats are prioritized for graduates, their families, and faculty, and seating for non-graduating students is not guaranteed.

 

Ⅰ. RU Graduation Ceremony

Date/Time	10:00-10:40, Thursday, March 20, 2025
Venue	OIC Arena (Building D, 2nd Floor)
Notes	*A recording of the ceremony will be available on RU’s official YouTube channel. There will be no live streaming available.

 

II. GLA Degree Conferral Ceremony

Date/Time	11:10-12:10, Thursday, March 20, 2025 *10:40-11:10 Check-in
Venue	OIC B374 “Colloquium” (Building B, 3rd floor)
What to Bring	Student ID Card

III. GLA Reception Party

Date/Time	12:20-13:50, Thursday, March 20, 2025
Venue	OIC Building G (G-House), 1st floor
Note	Refreshments provided. Attendance is not mandatory: you may leave during the reception. Commemorative photo wearing ANU gown (optional) Graduating students, family members, faculty, and current students are all welcome to attend.

Diploma (1 copy)

Certificate of Graduation (English, 1 copy)

Official Transcript (English, 1 copy)

Note:

Students who wish to receive additional copies of certificates must make a reservation at a certificate issuing machine. Detailed procedures will be available on the following website on March 5.

What to Do in Case of Absence

If you are unable to attend the ceremonies, the University will mail your diploma and related documents to your home address. Shipping costs are your responsibility. For more details, please refer to the email from the GLA Office sent after the announcement on graduation eligibility.

Rental / Purchase of the Ritsumeikan University Gown

The OIC Co-op shop will offer gown rentals and sales; gowns may be worn starting at the RU Graduation Ceremony at 10:00. If you wish to rent or purchase a gown, please see the attached flyer and apply using the following link.

For those who have completed the dual degree program, ANU gowns will be available for photo shoots at the GLA Reception Party.

 

Important Notes

Please remember to bring your Student ID Card. It is required for attending the ceremonies.

There is no formal dress code, but please dress in formal attire appropriate for the ceremonies.

Parents and family members are welcome to attend the ceremonies. If they come from a country or region that requires a visa, they must obtain a “short-term stay” visa in advance. Check details on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Website（External Link）.
