Sensing System Lab

Tell us about your research theme.

I came to Japan to learn how to improve quality of living through utilizing technologies in the fields of electrical and electronics. Applying wireless sensing network systems in the prevention of landslide disasters is my current research topic. In this system, we use sensors to detect signs of a landslide and transfer the information to our host system where we broadcast a warning to people. This network type can be applied in Japan, Vietnam, or any country to help avoid damages from nature disasters.

How do you think your experience at Ritsumeikan will help you achieve your future goals?

At Ritsumeikan, I know how much I must strive to fill my thirst of knowledge to catch up with other students. I have chances to listen to engaging lectures from famous professors, presidents of companies, to exchange interesting ideas with people from various backgrounds and nations, and broaden my eyes through those events. More importantly, there are many things I can learn here when working with software, hardware, tools and machines. I really wish that time would go more slowly so I can acquire as much as possible before completing my Master’s program next year.

What is your favorite thing about Ritsumeikan University?

The whole education system at Ritsumeikan impresses me most. Just take a tour around Biwako Kusatsu Campus; you can see a modern university; many facilities are in harmony with nature. The way Ritsumeikan encourages us to sharpen our skills and find suitable jobs is well constructed from the moment we make our first steps through the gates of the University. Here, professors give us interesting and valuable lectures every week; research activities are presented in laboratories every day; information and events catch my eyes on campus and in emails. Everything suggests I am in very good hands and I must move forward.

Tell us about a unique experience you had at Ritsumeikan.

It is no exaggeration to say that everyone at Ritsumeikan is very friendly and willing to help every time I am in need, especially the staff members. Staff members at the International Center and my Graduate School can remember the names and current statuses of all the international students correctly. Just that little thing makes me feel that we are cared for.

Why would you recommend studying at Ritsumeikan to another scholar?

In nearly 120 years, Ritsumeikan University has been a place where many students learn the way to find their destiny.
