Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya:Misa Okuzono Wins Bronze in Women’s 200m Butterfly
On Sunday, September 20, 2026, the Women’s 200m Butterfly was held at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre in Koto Ward, Tokyo, as part of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026. Misa Okuzono (3rd year, College of Sport and Health Science), a member of the Ritsumeikan University Swimming Team, delivered an outstanding performance to win the bronze medal.
Okuzono entered the Games in excellent form, having also won the Women’s 200m Butterfly at the 102nd Japan Intercollegiate Swimming Championships, held from Thursday, September 3 to Sunday, September 6. In the Asian Games final, she accelerated strongly over the second half of the race and secured third place with a time of 2:09.67.
