Every year since 1994, Asahi Shimbun Publications Inc. has released Japanese University Rankings assessing various aspects of universities such as the learning environment, research, career support, and alumni activities. The 2018 rankings were released in April this year.

Among 767 universities in Japan, Ritsumeikan University was rated 1st for the number of international faculty members, and ranked in the top 15 for several other factors. See the table below for more details.
