Prior to Your Application

⑴ Contact your prospective supervising professor, get pre-counseling on your research plan and what you can study at the graduate school, etc., before application period starts.
When contacting your prospective supervising professor, please submit ʻResearch Plan (Form ISE)’ to him/her.
⑵ Get approval on your research plan from your prospective supervising professor and receive ʻResearch Plan (Form ISE)’ with his/her signature or seal.
⑶ Applicants must complete their online registration on “Ritsu-Mate”,complete the payment of the application fee and submit all the necessary application documents including research plan with your prospective supervising professor’s signature or seal. In case you receive the research plan with data, please make color printing for submission.

International Student Admissions
These admissions are only for those who live outside of Japan at the time of application and cannot visit Ritsumeikan University to take an entrance examination .
Even those who live outside of Japan, however, are ineligible to apply if they meet any of conditions 1 to 3 below.
1. Those who graduate university in Japan within one year of the time of application.
2. Those who have a valid Japanese Residence Card at the time of application or those who have a Japanese Residence Status greater than three months in length.
3. Those who do not plan to newly obtain the Japanese Residence Status of 'student' in order to enroll in the graduate school.
