Why I Became a Researcher

I liked mathematics and science in junior and senior high school, and especially in chemistry, I found the phenomena caused by the chemical reactions in front of me to be very interesting, so I wanted to go into the sciences somehow. When I was taking university entrance exams, I took the entrance exam for the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences because my father wanted to make me a pharmacist for some reason. As a student, I lived in a dormitory, and I have fond memories of everyone working hard to study. As a hospital pharmacist, my work shifted from dispensing to drug management guidance, and by collaborating with doctors and multi-disciplinary employees to practice team medicine, I came to see this as an even more worthwhile job.

Message to Students

I want to think, learn and grow with students who are aiming for the worthwhile profession of a pharmacist

I worked in a facility that went from being a community-rooted 120-bed small-to-medium-sized hospital to a 19-bed clinic. Doctors were required to be capable of acting as so-called general practitioners. Similarly, the environment was such that pharmacists were required to have all-around knowledge of drugs. Under such circumstances, I practiced team medicine in the hospital and in homes by working with doctors, nurses, technicians, and staff involved in nursing care. I have come to work in a very worthwhile job as a team and as a pharmacist who is a member of a team. I want to think, learn and grow with students who are aiming for this worthwhile profession of a pharmacist.
