1981: B.S., Faculty of Pharmacy, Kobe Gakuin University
When I was in high school and thinking about where to go to university, I was overwhelmed by how passionately an older student who was enrolled in the Faculty of Pharmacy spoke to me about the job satisfaction and future prospects of pharmacists. This is what made me want to become a pharmacist in the first place. Although I feel somehow that I kind of fell into this field, looking back, I am grateful to that older student who led me on the path to become a pharmacist.
Message to Students
The broad scope of work in a large hospital, the close proximity to other professions in a small hospital, the satisfaction of face-to-face work in a dispensing pharmacy... There are many places where pharmacists can demonstrate their abilities and feel rewarded. In rural areas especially, there are many hospitals and pharmacies that are suffering from a shortage of pharmacists; they need your help. When I look back on my previous career as a hospital pharmacist, I think to myself how glad I am that I became a pharmacist. I would like to support our students, so that someday, they will feel the same way I do.
