Why I Became a Researcher
During my childhood, I often took antipyretics and antibiotics because I had a tendency to catch colds easily. Because of this, I began to question why taking medicine lowers my fever and why it stops my coughing, so I learned about those mechanisms, and imagining that I could make use of that learned knowledge as a pharmacist, I went into the pharmaceutical sciences at university. Until I was assigned to a laboratory, I was hoping to become a pharmacy or hospital pharmacist, but after getting a sense of the importance, fun, and value of basic research through my graduation research, I aspired to be a researcher.

Research Area and Theme
Construction of Evaluation Models for Gastrointestinal Absorption/Metabolism/Toxicity
I will construct new evaluation models of gastrointestinal absorption/metabolism/toxicity by controlling gene expression in cells using molecular biological methods such as genome editing technology and viral vectors.
Thoughts on Research Theme
I would like to contribute to drug discovery research by constructing models that could actually be used in pharmacokinetic tests and other research by pharmaceutical companies.
Message to Students
I want to make good use of the experience I’ve gained from taking a 6-year pharmaceutical science curriculum as well as the various research experience I gained in graduate school to provide students with support
Although studying for entrance exams when going into the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences is fairly difficult, compared to other colleges, it can also be fairly busy after enrollment with things like regular exams, student practicums, and graduation research. The contents of the classes are also expert-level, and unless you have a firm understanding of those contents, you won’t be able to earn credits, and at worst, unless you have a firm understand of the content, and you’ll have to repeat a year. However, most of the knowledge you learn in the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences will always be useful when you work as a pharmacist or researcher, so it’s all worth it. I have the experience of taking a 6-year pharmaceutical science curriculum as well as various research experience in graduate school. I hope that I can make good use of these experiences to provide some sort of support to all of you students.
