Clear selection

The competency which I believe I have acquired is innovation. In this case, I learn Python programming language and applies it to my work and research The situation that motivated me to acquire it is as follow:I used to work at a tax consultancy as a researcher. I wrote reports on our clients' industrial performance in the previous fiscal year. The reports were then integrated into our clients' tax reports.One day, my friends who are hired at the same time as me got promoted, while I did not. At that time, I felt that it was unfair, because I worked as hard and as smart as them. But then I realize that they were hired as consultants, while I was hired as a researcher. It means that for the company, my position was not as important as them.That event motivated me to learn Python programming language to bring something new to the table and make my position more irreplaceable. After learning it and work in a new place, I created several programming scripts that allow my team to achieve better results at shorter time period. It also allows us to explore new things that was not possible before.

Innovation

I am currently in my final year of studies at Ritsumeikan, and I am doing job-hunting at the moment. I have applied to many companies, have not heard back from majority of them, and gotten rejected by those that I went for an interview with. Despite that, I never gave up and I am still continuing my job hunt as I am determined to stay in Japan. After each unsuccessful attempt in finding a job, I would always reflect on what I did, and how I can improve myself in my next interview opportunity. I am also working harder than ever, finding jobs on all platforms possible, and trying to network with new people, which is something that I have never done before in the past. Albeit still not having land a job yet, I can see that there is a gradual improvement in myself throughout these few months as I am becoming a stronger person while learning new things about myself and the world.

Resilience

When: During my internship in the summer of 2022. Where: At a marketing firm located in the business district of my city. Who: I worked closely with a team of five interns and reported directly to a senior marketing manager. Additionally, we collaborated with clients to gather insights and feedback for campaign development. What: Our primary task was to develop a promotional campaign for a small business client launching a new product. The success of the campaign relied heavily on understanding the client’s needs and translating those into a clear and compelling marketing strategy.

Teamwork

When doing an internship, I was faced with many challenges and had to do many things in order to over come said challenges. I went through multiple design and manufacturing processes which made the product better. However, It took a whopping 3 years for me to perfect one section of the specific item. Although it took time and many trials and errors, in the end the feeling of completion was very happy and great.

Initiative

As I want to work with wildlife or contribute to support nature, i took initiative to apply for internships or volunteer work at farms, vet clinics, sea animal conservation centers, animal shelters, and animal adoption events.
