The Innocence Project is a non-profit organization originated in the United States dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals. In April 2016, Innocence Project Japan will be established by Ritsumeikan University, playing a leading role. In this symposium, we look at new ways of exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals, based on the reports in relation to the current status in Japan and the United States. Prior to its launch, the Innocence Project Japan holds a symposium titled "Death Row Exonerations and DNA Testing" in Tokyo. Ahead of the center's establishment, the Innocence Project Japan holds a symposium titled "Death Row Exonerations and DNA Testing" in Tokyo.
