Enrich Your Student Life by Participating in a Wide Variety of Student Groups, Clubs, and Circles
In addition to regular classes, Ritsumeikan University considers extracurricular activities (various clubs and circles, etc.) and other activities outside of regular classes as important learning opportunities. In addition to the rewarding and fulfilling feelings of taking part in the activities themselves, participation in academic associations, arts & culture associations, sports, and student council activities is a good opportunity to acquire skills that are useful in society, including the building of human relationships. Your valuable experiences in university will surely give you the keys to enrich your future.
At Ritsumeikan University, extracurricular activity organizations are classified as either official organizations, student clubs, voluntary associations, or registered student groups. All are organized under the Ritsumeikan University Student Government Board, which is a university-wide autonomous organization for students to which all students belong. This body aims to contribute to the development and improvement of regular studies and extracurricular activities, as well as the advancement of the academy overall. In addition to planning and executing new student welcome events and school festivals run by the students themselves, the Student Government Board also promotes learning through regular classes and extracurricular activities, provides first-year support through “oritor” activities, and self-government activities aimed at improving the student living environment.
