The President of The Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology visits Ritsumeikan
On July 6, Professor El-Gohary, the President of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) , Mrs. El-Gohary, Professor Masaaki Suzuki, the Vice-President of E-JUST and his team members paid a courtesy visit to the Ritsumeikan University Suzaku Campus. They met Professor Mikio Yoshida, the Chancellor and Professor Masato Ichikawa, the Vice Chancellor of Ritsumeikan.
The E-JUST team shared information regarding the circumstance of universities in Egypt and provided an update on E-JUST, including the progress of establishing a new undergraduate college. During the discussion, Ritsumeikan and E-JUST vowed to establish a partnership in order to achieve E-JUST’s mission to develop members of society who can contribute to the development of Egypt, the Middle East and African countries.
E-JUST was established under the cooperation of the Egyptian and the Japanese government, and the member universities of the Japanese university consortium have been providing support. Ritsumeikan University, a member of the consortium, has supported the human resource development through administrative staff training in the past. From this year, the cooperation has stepped up to support the enhancement of the university administrative function, and Ritsumeikan has sent one administrative staff member to work at E-JUST.
