OIC TISA - Cooking Event with International Students
A lot of international students from around the world come to Ritsumeikan University every year. Both Japanese students and international students can learn more about a variety of cultures of each country through these events. Tutors for International Students Assembly (TISA), together with the International Center, hold events that allow Japanese students and international students the chance to build friendships every month.
This time, on Tuesday June 8th, TISA held a cooking party at Ritsumeikan University Osaka Ibaraki Campus where everyone cooked Kansai's soul food Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki. It was the first time for many international students to make Takoyaki and it seemed a little difficult to turn them, but everyone had a great time trying it out. A participating student commented, “It was really nice to learn about Japanese food culture, and if there are any other cultural events, I would like to participate!”
TISA will hold more events in the future to give students the opportunity to experience international culture and build worldwide connections.
