Declaration 7: Introduce Ritsumeikan-style Campus DX Platform.

dummy

We will launch the Ritsumeikan-style Campus Digital Transformation (DX) Platform to enhance and support your activities in various fields by proactively adopting cyber technologies and incorporating the advantages of online communication in a real-life setting, while offering more opportunities for in-person interactions.

DX as a learning aid

  • We have enhanced our campus environment by installing web cameras and speakers in all the classrooms to enable students to attend classes both on-campus and off-campus. We will also improve the learning environment by providing more electrical outlets and wireless LAN access points to enable students to study and learn from each other anywhere.
  • We will provide live or on-demand streaming of classes given in-person for those students who cannot attend the classes for various reasons.
  • The DX platform improves the quality of learning by enabling students to learn iteratively using on-demand educational materials and to virtually study abroad through a web-based student exchange program offered as part of global education.

Ritsumeikan Cyber-Campus – DX as a peer support tool

  • Ritsumeikan University will work with students to launch Ritsumeikan Cyber-Campus, a platform for web-based interactions that enables new students to connect with student club and circle members and Oritors (members of a student organization established to support new students).
  • Ritsumeikan Cyber-Campus will be first used to offer information on student clubs and circles, and then to facilitate communication between new and existing students, and among all students.

RI-sA (Ritsumeikan Innovators – supported by Alumni)

  • The RI-sA project was started during the Covid-19 pandemic in AY2020. Supported by the alumni association of Ritsumeikan University, this project is designed to provide an online venue for students to meet, connect to each other, and create “something” together.
  • The project is joined by 101 students, who have been developing online contents that meet the diverse needs of undergraduate and graduate students of Ritsumeikan University. These include an online networking event, videos for YouTube streaming, and a social networking site and app for networking. The alumni association funded the project (30,000 yen per member per month).
  • This project has enabled new students who have not been able to attend the real campus to make friends and build human relationships. The project will be continued in AY2021.
