Japan's cherry blossom season is a sight to behold.
The custom of enjoying the transient beauty of the delicate pink petals, together with food and drink, whilst sitting under a tree, is known as 'Hanami' or flower-viewing. Hanami is a popular past time from late March through to early May, with trees blooming at different times from location to location depending on the local climate.
The trees on Ritsumeikan University's campuses generally bloom in April, complemented beautifully by other blossoms too.
