The 2nd AJI Interdisciplinary Seminar: “Diaspora as a Way: Humanities Knowledge to Resist Stronger Nations and Borders”

The 2nd AJI Interdisciplinary Seminar was held online on June 2, 2020. We invited Dr. Takanori Hayao, an Associate Professor at Tokyo Keizai University, to give a speech on the theme of "Diaspora as a Way: Humanities Knowledge to Resist Stronger Nations and Borders". In addition to examining the transition of the term diaspora, the speaker addressed the possibility of resistance to nationalism and gender hierarchy by the concept of diaspora based on the thoughts of the Boyarin brothers. During the Q & A session with the participants, topics such as the possibility of future development of multicultural diaspora philosophy, recent trends in Israeli history, and research trends in post-colonialism were vividly discussed.
