Symbiosis

The Institute will explore new forms of "Symbiosis" with and within Asia using concrete approaches to the analysis of social structures embodying Asian history, culture, politics, and religion, in contrast to the wealth and social systems produced by the West. In order to conceptualize symbiosis, it is necessary to pursue research in area studies superimposed with multiple disciplinary approaches, while questioning specific phenomena in Asia and delving deep in search of answers. This process will surely generate new visions of coexistence distinct from the issue of power relations among nation-states and open up new possibilities for "understanding Asia."
