Ritsumeikan Research Center for Sustainability Science
Ritsumeikan Research Center for Sustainability Science (RCS) was established in January 2007. With almost 50 members of its research staff, it is an integrated, multidisciplinary research center that aims for the sustainability of the region and people for Ritsumeikan as a whole (Kinugasa Campus, Biwako-Kusatsu Campus, Suzaku Campus, Osaka Ibaraki Campus, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University).
The Center aims to consolidate the technology that supports sustainable societies, policies and legal systems to achieve sustainable societies, human knowledge and culture that have bolstered a long history, and other aspects of humankind's wisdom and assets, by crossing the boundaries between colleges, campuses, and fields of study and striving for communication between researchers at RCS and between campuses, and through these efforts, clarify today's issues, formulate theories and principles toward solutions, and implement development and social living that do not endanger the needs of future generations.
