BKC International House

In September 2012, Biwako-Kusatsu Campus opened a new dormitory for international students, immediately adjacent to campus. This state of the art facility sits in a quiet neighborhood, so it offers students both a peaceful setting and the convenience of close proximity to all of the university's facilities. The BKC International House aims to help international students transition to living in Japan while providing an environment where students can adjust to the local language and culture as well as interact with fellow scholars from around the world.

Private Rooms

The dormitory offers single-occupancy rooms for newly-arrived international students at BKC, as well as short-term, multi-occupancy (4 to 8 person) rooms for seminars, and rooms for visiting researchers and professors. Rooms with private showers are available too.

Please contact the BKC I-House team from the International Center I-House at bkcihs12@st.ritsumei.ac.jp.
After submitting the required documents (a pledge etc.), an interview will be conducted by a staff of the International Center.

Resident Mentor(RM)

Recruitment

Resident Mentor (RM) is recruited twice a year, in spring (around June) and autumn (around November).
Details of RM recruitment are announced on manaba+R.
*RM is required to have ability to communicate both in Japanese and English.

Who is RM?

RMs live in the I-House with international residents, and are responsible for overall management of the I-House, including hygiene management and advice on daily life, as well as providing support for administrative procedures of the international students living in the I-House. They also play a central role in the planning and management of various events and other activities at the I-House.
