On January 25, Visiting Professor Yukio Takasu (College of International Relations) gave a lecture titled “Looking Back on the Decade of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s Term in Office” at the Hirai Kaichiro Memorial Library on the Kinugasa campus of Ritsumeikan University.

Professor Takasu served as the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Management and the Special Adviser on Human Security to the United Nations Secretary-General. This lecture is hosted by the College of International Relations, Ritsumeikan University to commemorate its upcoming 30th anniversary.

While touching upon his roles in the United Nations, Professor Takasu looked back upon the era of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s term in office, posed questions to the students present, and explained to them the missions that the UN seeks to fulfill.

Professor Takasu has been teaching at Ritsumeikan University since 2011.
