【Report】A ceremony was held to commemorate the signing of the MOU between the Indonesian International Islamic University (Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia) and Ritsumeikan University.

A ceremony was held on September 29th at Ritsumeikan University’s Suzaku Campus to celebrate signing an academic exchange agreement with the Indonesian International Islamic University (Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia, UIII). During the ceremony, Professor Jamhari Makruf (Vice-rector of UIII) and Professor Akio Tokuda (Vice-rector of Ritsumeikan University) exchanged greetings and pledged to strengthen the partnership between the two universities. The new cooperation agreement was signed in April 2022.

The event was attended by several distinguished individuals, including Professor Dian Masyita (the Dean of the School of Economics and Business at UIII), Professor Luthfi Hamidi (Faculty of Economics at UIII), Ms. Nadya Maharani, Professor Yasushi Kosugi (the Director of the Asia-Japan Research Institute at Ritsumeikan University (AJI)), and Associate Professors Toshiyuki Takeda and Khashan Ammar, both from AJI. Professor Yasushi Kosugi led the ceremony.

Both universities will co-host an international symposium on the day after the ceremony to strengthen their research collaboration.
