COMPANY PROFILE
Company Profile
Space BD is a one-stop service provider dedicated to accelerating the commercial utilization of space. Our comprehensive services span a wide range—from launching small satellites via commercial rockets and the International Space Station (ISS), and the fabless development of space equipment, to supporting pharmaceutical research through protein crystallization in microgravity. Grounded in our technology-driven business development capabilities, our team of members from diverse career backgrounds delivers seamless support integrating business planning, market research, and hands-on technical operations. Through these strengths, we actively expand our business into areas such as commercialization support and business transformation for both the public and private sectors, as well as space talent development.
As the space industry expands, it is essential to develop talent equipped not only with technical excellence but also with the perspective of how to implement that technology in society and elevate it into a sustainable business model. We are confident that the Graduate School of Frontier Exploration in Earth and Space's commitment to an integrated science, engineering, and management program, and its development of job-ready talent who understand both technology and business through practical learning opportunities in collaboration with industry, will become the engine driving the space business forward.
We expect graduates to contribute primarily in the following two areas.
· Business Development: Project managers who leverage their technical background to propose and build space-based solutions for customer challenges.
· Engineering: Specialists in the design and development of in-house products, and in the technical coordination of matching domestic and international launch vehicles with customer satellites.
· Technology translation capability: The ability to convert advanced research findings and specifications into language that communicates their value to non-technical stakeholders, and to drive projects forward.
· Systems thinking: A holistic perspective that understands the constraints of the extreme conditions of the space environment, ensures alignment between subsystems, and links challenges on Earth with space technology.
· Project Execution & Delivery: The tenacity to iterate and validate when facing open-ended questions, coupled with the execution skills to drive projects to a successful conclusion (such as a successful launch or operation).
We expect these capabilities to be cultivated through the curriculum, research in areas such as frontier exploration, and project experience at the Graduate School of Frontier Exploration in Earth and Space.
