We believe that people who acquire skills related to measurement, data analysis, and modeling for space and Earth systems will be extremely important in the industry of the future. In particular, for companies like ours that are built upon measurement and analysis, people who understand the design philosophy behind observation and measurement (including principles, precision, uncertainty, calibration, and reproducibility) and who can transform data into valuable information while ensuring the quality of that data can become central figures in the development of products and the proposal of solutions.
In addition, Earth and space sciences are interdisciplinary fields involving not only science, engineering, and information science, but also international collaboration, standardization, and policy trends. For this reason, acquiring international and interdisciplinary communication skills that enable people to align objectives and requirements among stakeholders from different specializations and positions and build consensus through a common language is indispensable. We believe the Graduate School of Frontier Exploration in Earth and Space’s program, which will cultivate international and interdisciplinary communication skills through collaborative research and other activities with international students, holds tremendous value for translating research outcomes into practical applications and developing products and services for global markets.
