COMPANY PROFILE

Company Profile

SkymatiX develops and provides a spatial data integration platform that digitizes on-site decision-making by leveraging data collected from satellites, drones, and other sensing technologies.
Built on a device-agnostic architecture, its flagship platform, KUMIKI, integrates and manages diverse spatial data from satellites, drones, and ground-based sensors as valuable digital assets. Leveraging proprietary Japanese analytics technologies, the company is driving digital transformation (DX) across key industries including construction, infrastructure management, and disaster prevention.

As a company, what value or appeal do you see in the Graduate School of Frontier Exploration in Earth and Space's approach to talent development?

We see tremendous value in the Graduate School's commitment to developing professionals who can view space and Earth as an integrated system and work across the entire value chain—from observation and analysis to real-world implementation.

The space industry is becoming increasingly vital in addressing global challenges such as climate change, infrastructure maintenance, and food production. We believe the demand will continue to grow for professionals who can connect space-derived data and technologies with solutions to challenges on Earth.
In particular, we believe that professionals who can break down data silos—situations where valuable data exists but is not effectively used in operational decision-making—through both technical expertise and a deep understanding of real-world operations will play a key role in transforming society.

We see the establishment of the Graduate School of Frontier Exploration in Earth and Space as a highly meaningful initiative for industry, providing an environment where future professionals can develop not only technical expertise but also the ability to translate technology into tangible value for society.

What kinds of roles or positions within your company do you believe graduates of the Graduate School of Frontier Exploration in Earth and Space would excel in?

・Engineers and analysts specializing in remote sensing and spatial data analytics
・Solution planning and business development
・Product development focused on turning spatial data into actionable intelligence (spatial data platform development)
・Customer Success and solution implementation

We expect graduates to excel in roles that bridge technology and field operations while creating tangible value for customers and society.

What kinds of knowledge and skills would be particularly useful in those roles and positions? Please provide some detailed examples.

In addition to a solid understanding of remote sensing technologies—including satellites and drones—graduates will benefit from expertise in GIS, spatial data management, data analytics, and AI. Equally important is the ability to understand real-world challenges in a structured way and apply technology to solve them.
For example, on construction sites, professionals are expected not only to analyze collected data but also to determine how those insights should be incorporated into operational decision-making. The ability to view technology, business, and societal challenges from an interdisciplinary perspective will be valuable both in product development and in delivering value to customers. As we work toward a future where people can understand a site without ever setting foot on it., we have high expectations for professionals who can integrate spatiotemporal data spanning from space to the ground and design effective decision-making and consensus-building processes.

MESSAGE
